db0 is a unique collaboration between Joe Steele and British-Indian producer Kiran SKG. db0's work traverses genres from hip-hop, glitchcore, electro-pop, ambient, jazz, contemporary classical and Indian folk.

 

Formed in 2021, they released their debut EP ambi-tape in 2023, inviting the listener into six colourful sound worlds of choral voices, synths, saxophones, bells, pianos, field recordings and more. Documenting a turning point many people experience in life, where a change must be made to clear away the history they're holding onto, the EP is partly inspired by EMDR therapy sessions which Kiran underwent in early 2023. This form of therapy - with its emphasis on memory, visualisation and imagination - provides a starting point for ambi-tape’s colourful sound worlds to blossom, including recordings taken from real-life therapy sessions (mantra, surface fog, clear history) as well as jam sessions on Zoom (heart space).

db0 are currently working with a range of artists (Kaine Francesco, Di Vincent) on a diverse portfolio of new projects whilst developing their own live ensemble with a group  musicians (Amisha Sitar, Jae-X, Josh Consi and Roseanna Skikun) from both Indian and Western disciplines.
