FEATURED PROJECTS. MISS GYRUS.

Written and composed over the Covid lockdowns of 2020 & 2021, MISS GYRUS is a semi-autobiographical show exploring queerness, Biblical interpretation, and self-acceptance. Its innovative form is a blend of musical theatre, traditional drama, comedy and videography.

Through a catalogue of irreverent songs spanning everything from classical to disco to electro-pop, the titular Miss Gyrus recounts living through all of history to the present day - an after-effect of being raised to life by Jesus as a young girl. Meanwhile young Evangelical Christian Josh struggles to reconcile his fundamentalist beliefs and his sexuality - navigating Bible camps, Tinder and parental pressure as he tries to assemble his own world view.

The show was performed at Camden People’s Theatre in 2022 and programmed for Vault Festival 2022 (cancelled due to Covid).
